Can someone quickly fill me in on why this girl is shown farting a lot please? Is it because she's like this in the anime or manga or something?

She is base on the Japanese war ship "taihou". The war ship was powerful but had a abysmal internal design.Which resulted in severe gas leaks. The ship was eventually destroyed in a gas related explosion. Which is why Taihou is portrayed as being gassy by the kantai collection fan base.
